One of the top five most-visited state parks in California, San Onofre is a historical surf break that offers some of the best learning waves in California. This reef break produces mellow waves that are PERFECT for beginners and for long boarders of all skill levels. In addition to being a famous surf spot, this beach is also known as wonderful hang out spot for families and friends.

Tucked in the Camp Pendleton Reserve area, San Onofre is part of the limited coastline that is surrounded by nature, rather than hotels are beach houses. This beach is also great for seeing birds, whales, dolphins, and other wildlife.

If the waves are just right, there's a good chance you'll be treated to a performance by a pro surf star.
  • Surfing Heritage and Culture CenterThis museum will take you through the history of surfboards and their development, surf photography, as well as iconic surfers that have made a mark.
