Outdoor exercise has been proven to help avoid many medical conditions, including obesity, heart disease, and more. Get a kick start to your New Year’s Resolution by being active and healthy before 2019 rings in. Instead of shopping on Black Friday, doing things like surfing, diving, hiking, biking, or any other activity will boost your physical health long before it’s even swim-suit season.
Whether you’re shopping online or at the mall, our planet is taking a slap to the face. Most consumer products require large amounts of energy to produce and are responsible for a large percentage of greenhouse gasses that create climate change. The good news is you can still participate in Black Friday while you #optoutside by purchasing services or activities that take you outside instead of shopping for products. According to Wendy Frew, an Environment Reporter, “It is better to spend more of our money on services” which require fewer resources and create less waste than products and goods.
