Surf Session Fuel to Hit the Waves Stronger

Just like any other sport, surfing is both physically and mentally demanding. Your body and mind work together to get you into waves. It’s important to fuel your body before you paddle out. Surfers are a healthy bunch who fill their bodies with nutritional foods that will fuel their surf sessions. The hardest part about fueling a surf session is figuring out what foods will make the perfect surf session fuel. Surfing works the whole body from the shoulders all the way down to the legs requiring a healthy balance of protein, carbs, and fat to fuel muscles. Though carbohydrates have a bad rap, when used as fuel, they are incredibly useful. Carbohydrates serve as a primary fuel source for paddling and choosing healthy carbs like whole grains and fruit will help you crush your surf session. Protein is needed to aid in the repair of your hard-working muscles and healthy fats, like avocados and nuts, are essential for brain function and vitamin absorption.
