Surf with Karleigh at Beacon’s Beach

San Diego ladies! We are so stoked that we get to surf with you at the upcoming Women’s Community Surf Class! Come surf with Karleigh at Beacon’s Beach in Encinitas on Nov. 11th!

We thought we would give you an introduction to both your instructor and the beach so you can get as stoked as we are for this event!

Meet Karleigh!

We love having Karleigh as an instructor on the Wavehuggers Team. She’s so much fun and is so amazing at her job! Karleigh is patient and kind and is awesome at giving practical, applicable tips to improve your surfing.

Here’s what she had to say about her love for surfing and her job:

“I grew up in Carlsbad and quickly was drawn to the ocean. My dad taught me and my siblings how to surf when I was around 9 years old. I fell in love with it and as soon as I could do it on my own I was surfing everyday sometimes multiple times a day. I’m a big nature girl. I love being outside and being active.  When I’m not surfing, I’m climbing. I do a lot of bouldering and rope climbing in Yosemite and Joshua tree in the off season.

Teaching people how to surf is something that brings me so much joy. I know how much surfing has impacted my life and if I can bring that same impact to someone else and that same joy I’ve found with it, it’s a life giving feeling!”

Meet us at Beacon’s Beach

If you haven’t been to Beacon’s Beach before, get pumped because you’re going to love surfing here! San Diego County has so many rad beaches to choose from, but Beacon’s is really a gem.

Here are a few reasons we love it so much:

  • a great central location for San Diego County
  • INCREDIBLE view
  • laid-back vibe in the lineup
  • pretty consistent waves
  • waves that are good for both long boarders and short boarders

Surf with Kaleigh at Beacon's Beach

The waves here are perfect for surfers of all skill levels! Both advanced and intermediate surfers can have a lot of fun. No matter your skill level, you will have ample opportunities to improve your surf technique without being intimidated by the strength of the waves or the intensity of surfers in the lineup.

The parking lot is situated on a bluff and boasts amazing views of the coast. The view from the water is just as gorgeous! However, be prepared for a bit of a walk with your board to get down to the water. You might want to bring a pair of flip flops for the trek.

Come surf with Karleigh at Beacon’s Beach on November 11th!
