Learn to surf in Cardiff, San Diego’s hidden gem.
Nestled between classy Solana Beach and charming Encinitas, Cardiff is a beach-lover’s paradise.
A reef runs parallel to the coastline in this area and ensures rad waves at all of Cardiff’s beaches on the daily. The flat beaches are awesome for long walks, sunbathing, and for families with young kids. The reefs become fascinating tide pools at low tide – be on the lookout for lots of cool marine life!
Meet us at Pipes Beach
Pipes Beach on the north end of San Elijo State Beach offers waves with long, rolling rides that are perfect for beginners. Due to the placement of the reef, the waves break farther from shore than at many other beaches. Something that is unique about Pipes is that it’s a favorite break for both short boarders and long boarders. This is incredible for novices because they can work on transitioning to a short board on mellower waves and at a break they are familiar with.
Free parking is located along either side of Coast Highway near the beach.
